In 2006 singer-songwriter Lily Kiara formed a band to bring together three of her big loves in surprising ways: folk pop songs, poetry and improvised music. The band's name is The RIVER, after the flow in which their concerts reveal themselves. Sometimes you are being drawn in deep until you suddenly realize you came around the bend unnoticed and find yourself in different waters.

The SWIM SESSIONS are three concerts of The RIVER in Amsterdam. At every concert a poet is invited to be guest and open the night: Megan M. Garr, Erik Jan Harmens and Kira Wuck. The first two took place at Plantage Dokzaal and De Roode Bioscoop. The third one took place the Bimhuis on 24 January 2014, with the full band. Photo swIMpression on this site.
